Desmond Garrett Kinds Jr. is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, producer, musician, and stylist born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. A creator of vast emotional depth and vision, he is the founder of Terra i Sol Records and the multimedia brand XMAKARIX. Kinds' work is known for its unfiltered honesty and exploration of pain, identity, and resilience, often shaped by his personal experiences with childhood trauma and mental health. Through every medium he touches, he brings forth a sense of raw humanity, using creativity as both refuge and revolution.

In 2021, Kinds published his debut poetry collection, A Ghost of No Face, a haunting and powerful body of work that earned him accolades for poems like “The Stairs” and “Premonitions.” Around the same time, he released his first single under the alias Phiro99, marking the beginning of his journey into professional music. With a sound rooted in emotional storytelling and experimental textures, Kinds has been producing music since 2018, steadily building a distinct voice that defies traditional genre boundaries and reflects his layered inner world.

In 2024, under his artistic name XMAKARIX, Kinds unveiled IRAKAM, a bold three-part musical project that further cemented his place in the underground music and art scene. Shortly after, he released his first solo EP The Damned Under the Moonfall, continuing to evolve his sound and aesthetic while drawing listeners into his introspective universe. His multimedia approach allows him to seamlessly weave together music, visual art, and narrative, giving voice to the unspeakable and offering solace to those who’ve lived through similar darkness.

Over the years, Kinds has been recognized for his fearless artistry, earning awards for standout works like Flowers on the Ceiling, The Withering Eye, and Never Want to Go in 2022.
